This add-on supports forwarders of any type for data collection. Required if you use universal forwarders to collect data. Not required if you use heavy forwarders to collect data. Install this add-on to all search heads where Windows knowledge management is required. This table provides a reference for installing this specific add-on to a distributed deployment of the Splunk platform. See Where to install Splunk add-ons in Splunk Add-ons for more information. Unless otherwise noted, all supported add-ons can be safely installed to all tiers of a distributed Splunk platform deployment. Depending on your environment, your preferences, and the requirements of the add-on, you may need to install the add-on in multiple places. Use the tables below to determine where and how to install this add-on in a distributed deployment of Splunk Enterprise or any deployment for which you are using forwarders to get your data in. I have just updated all my Vim-on-Windows installation on 4 of my Windows 10 machines this afternoon using the scoop method. Lastly, I would recommend using scoop to install Vim on Windows. You can find the link at the bottom of the Cream download page Cream's Windows installer for Vim without Cream.To note, there are other popular Vim builds, like the one salchint has suggested. They are the "best" in terms of the integration with Windows => when you right click on two files, there should be a Diff with Vim option. It worked pretty well on 10+ Windows machines, across multiple years (5+). I have been using the official Windows installer from the site.
